Nicholas Wilz is the founder of Heartland Wealth Partners, bringing more than a decade of experience across banking, insurance, and comprehensive financial planning. His career began in community banking, where he learned the importance of clear communication, trust, and meeting people where they are. From there, he moved into insurance and eventually became an agency owner with Farm Bureau Financial Services, working closely with farm families, small businesses, and rural households across Northeast Iowa.
Those years shaped his understanding of real-world financial decision-making—from cash flow, debt structure, and land and equipment purchases to protection planning and long-term goals that do not always fit neatly into a spreadsheet. He later expanded into comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance, earning his Series 7 and Series 65 registrations along with insurance licenses. That combination allows clients to work with one advisor who understands both the practical decisions they face and how each piece fits into the larger financial picture.
Nicholas also leads education and outreach for LOSAP programs supporting volunteer fire departments, helping departments and participants understand their benefits and make confident decisions.
